2022 L'Oréal Portugal Honor Medals for Women in Science – closed on16th September 2022
The L'Oréal Portugal Honor Medals for Women in Science intend to carry out advanced studies of scientific research, at the post-doctoral level, in universities or other Portuguese institutions of recognized merit, in the domain of Sciences, Engineering and Technologies for Health or for the Environment.
To whom it may concern: All applicants who have obtained a doctoral degree less than 5 years before the date of the opening of the call and who do not complete, by the end of the current year, over 35 years of age.
Funding: The unit value of the Medals of Honor is € 15,000 (fifteen thousand euros), awarded in a single instalment.

Call for Sponsored Prizes - João Monjardino 2022 Prize – closed on 15th September 2022
The prize results from a protol celebrated between FCT and Fundação Professor Francisco Pulido Valente and intends to distinguish the best paper published on the topic Viral Diseases: Epidemiology, Etiopathogenesis and Control.
Funding: The amount of the Prize is 10.000 EUR.
Applications: applicants must be first author or co-author of an original article published or accepted for publication (with proof of acceptance) in a national or international specialist journal.

Maria de Sousa Call for PhD Studentships – 2022 SEAGULL - Seeking Epidemiological and Virological Answers – From September 1st until 5:00 p.m. (Lisbon time) of 29th 2022.
Purpose and Overview:
The call is focused on the development of knowledge to create the skills required to answer to virologic phenomena, including pandemics, and that may translate into efficient prevention measures, better healthcare and an effective support to citizens.
The Call will support applications in any scientific field that contribute to the following objectives and areas of knowledge, such as innovative approaches, including new methods and new technologies, for viral disease diagnosis.
Who Can Apply: 50 PhD studentships will be awarded to fund the research activities that will grant the doctorate academic degree, framed within the scope of the Call, and that contribute to its objectives.
The work plan may take place entirely or partially in a national institution (studentship in Portugal or both in Portugal and abroad, respectively) or be carried out entirely in a foreign institution (studentship abroad).
Applicants need to:
Be a citizen permanently and usually living in Portugal in case the work plan will be carried out entirely or partially at foreign institutions (both in Portugal and abroad or entirely abroad); this requirement applies to both national and foreign citizens.
Funding: Selected applicants will have monthly allowances and supplementary support, according to the rules established in the Regulation (RBI), which may include tuition fees, support for complementary training activities or presentation of work at scientific meetings, personal accident insurance and, when applicable, travel and relocation costs.
Studentships are annual, and can be renewed for the number of months for which they have been requested.
