1. HIGHLIGHT - ArdWorks Show-Room @Lx Factory Open Day
The ArdWorks initiative, which has been in 2011 jointly organized by COPELABS, University Lusófona and COWORK Lisboa, was present in the Lx Factory Open Day on 11.11.2011, with a show-room dedicated to augmented reality low-cost interfacing. The event was organized by Paulo Mendes, Bruno Batista, Adriano Couto (COPELABS/ULHT) together with Fernando Mendes and Ana Dias (COWORK Lisboa), and counted with the participation of five selected works from different entities in Portugal. COPELABS/University Lusófona presented the Immersive Arduino project. From University Lusófona, Diogo Grilo, Xavier Franganito and José Neves presented the work HighInteraction. From University of Lisboa, LabMag, Carlos Bangueses, Tânia Pinheiro, Beatriz Carmo and Ana Paula Cláudio presented an augmented reality project based on KinectTM interfacing. University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) was represented by Jorge Lima who showed the project OpenSim. Artica, together with Widgilabs, brought "Driving Farrusco". Based on voting from visitors of the show-room, the "best project" award was provided to HighInteraction. ArdWorks has as main goal to ignite augmented reality development based on low-cost and user-friendly technology. ArdWorks events are targetted to students, geeks, teachers, or simply people with basic programming skills willing to better deal with immersive Technologies. |
